We would gladly recommend Chuck Ulbrich of CMU Construction as a general contractor on a house remodel. Chuck did a great job of coordinating his subs. Every step of a many faceted process occurred in a timely manner, from getting the subcontractors’ to adding the final details. All of Chuck's subcontractors are personable and professional. Each was able to efficiently accomplish their part of the project to meet our specifications. They did a beautiful job.
Our house is a 1927 Bungalow with most of the architectural details intact except for the kitchen and bath. CMU Construction did a total remodel of our kitchen and bath, back–filled a deeply sloping driveway, built a retaining wall to create a new driveway, and rebuilt a portion of the deck. In the process, all of the plumbing in the house and the wiring in the kitchen and bath areas were updated. The hallways were skim–coated to create a smoother surface for paint, which required the careful removal and later replacement of the existing millwork (door moldings and baseboard). We know from personal experience that this is a very difficult task, and Chuck handled it well. In the remodeled areas, new mouldings and baseboards were made to match those existing elsewhere in the house. Two large new windows were added and the millwork on the outside of the house was also made to match the existing millwork. The tile work and custom cherry cabinets are outstanding.
Again, we would gladly recommend Chuck Ulbrich of CMU Construction as a general contractor on a house remodel.
